American Idiot

Karen and I went to 2 plays in NYC. This is the second one we went to on Sunday. It wasn't a planned event but it turned out to be a great idea.

American Idiot was all music by Green Day and the cast was young and very energetic.

How I spent my B-day you ask...Well it didn't start out very well actually it was a mess then we went back to the room and started over again. As you can see the rest of the day was wonderful.

The last time there was a Sex and City movie I was in Brussels and it was a couple weeks later than the us opening. Which would have been on my birthday...this year the world premier was on my b-day on NYC. I just happened to be there with Karen.

Even though these photos are exciting we got there about 3:15ish and the stars arrived about 6:15ish and it last till 7:30ish. Yes we stood for that long on the street with a bunch of other crazy people, not to mention we were or I was standing on a subway grate. IF you have ever been to NYC you know that they are HOT and scary to even walk on. There was a guy that told Karen and I that if we wanted the best views to move down to where he was going to be. He was totally right that was the best view from the whole block! Thank you Mr. !!!!

Then after this looking very disshuffled and in jeans we hopped in a cab and went to our late dinner reservation at Union Square Cafe.

another day

waking up another day older...I think that I'm feeling healthier and look better (not counting my eyes) than last year when I turned 40. Considering everything I have gone through in the last year that is amazing.

Birthday

Happy Birthday to me...I have mixed feelings about this day. Not because I'm a year older but because I will not have Joe to celebrate with me. Not that he has been there every birthday...he once planned a retirement party on my b-day and then would not let me tell anyone that it was birthday. He even traveled to the US when we lived in Brussels. These were all things that were I grew to deal with because I knew when I did get to celebrate with Joe on my b-day it was always worth the wait or missing my day the year before.

Great days to remember. When we were getting ready to move to Brussels, we actually were in Brussels looking for housing. I also spent on birthday in the south of France, Venice and Brussels.

I guess I'm just missing feeling of someone making me feel extra special...I know my parents and friends do that but it just isn't the same thing.

watering...

Ahh Friday. I have made it 5 days of watering my new landscaping. Nobody told me how much work it is to water the lawn, not to mention how long it takes.

I kind of wish it was next friday already, I'm getting ready for the new sex and the city 2 movie, I can't wait. I wish they never showed that Carrie sees Aidan.

For some reason Foxy started to eat dirt and Ana thought that looked likes fun to. Ana digs to make a hole or to get fresh dirt then they both stick there heads in the hole and chow down.

Last night Foxy thought this mound of dirt on my back patio looked yummy how ever it was an ant hill and then started sneezing cause she had ants up her nose.

I have been so busy with paper work, errands and other stuff I forgot to tell you I had the best photos from my class I took. We had to bring 10 or so photos to class to share. Everyone like all of mine but these are the two they liked best. My teacher even blew all them up looking to see if any pixel was out of focus to pick on something about my photos.

To be honest some of the other peoples photos were either really bad or just ok. I think Ana could have taken better photos than some of them.

Home sweet home

last weekend I went to see my parents up north. I brought the girls because they or Ana needs to get use to their house. They will be staying there when I go on my trip.

It actually snowed up there when I was there...Ahh may in northern Minnesota.

The girls had fun up there but are happy to be home.

They are also starting my landscaping this morning and it is suppose to rain all the rest of the week...my fence is still not finished. The good news is that I'm finally getting some major problems and projects off my list...there might finally be light at the end of the tunnel soon. :)

It is suppose to be rainy all weekend so I guess I will work on finishing my fence next week...hope everyone has a good weekend.

Also St. Paul (the city) is crazy for saying the viking stadium is not fair cause St Paul is not benefiting from any of the new stadiums. Meaning the twins and maybe cross your fingers the vikings stadium.

Lawn

So lawn has been getting out of control and Foxy and Ana have not been able to keep up eating the grass. (they like to eat it and chew on the long grass all the time with out getting sick like they saying goes)

Tuesday I discovered that I can put the old style manual lawn mower but not if the grass is 3 or 4 inches high. That made my day because I can not work the electric mower very well it is not self propelled.

My other option is I think I would like a goat! just get one in the spring and give it back in the fall. It could just wander around my back yard with the girls.

ash...

So this morning I didn't know what I was going to blog about today...until I just heard this. Today the airports in Scotland are closed due to the ash again. I'm seriously thinking about getting a train ticket from Scotland to Paris, because if I miss another Paris trip it will not be a good thing.

I guess I have a good feeling I will get to Scotland, I'm just not sure I will get off the island if I get there. :)

Bon Voyage

Today my nephew leaves for Spain. He is doing an internship/summer semester in a suburb outside of Madrid.

I know he will have a blast, Joe and I never made it to spain but if it is like the rest of Europe I know he will love it.

A big project

This weekend with the help of good friends we attempted to stain my fence. I say attempted because we are still not done. It was a bigger job than 2 day of staining. Not sure when it will get finished but again anyone willing to help is welcome :)
