Trial update from Los Angeles

Jury selection finishes tomorrow. As soon as the jury is seated, the DA expects the trial to begin immediately. I expect to be one of the first witnesses on the stand.

About a month ago I got told I have acid reflux. So I have cut out OJ in the morning and my potato and leek soup. My problem now is how to get get Vit C in my diet. I can't swallow pills and the chewable ones I got from whole foods are so thick and sour that I don't really want to chew them (really I'm scared they are going to break my teeth).

The other day I found this powder called Alive that is all from fruits. I think I like it how ever it is a pain now every morning with my pro-biotic I mix in some juice, my vit d3 I drop into juice and now I have my vit. C

I have 2 glasses of mango juice with all my goodies mixed in. Why is being healthy so complicated?

The girls are like little kids - I can't get anything done unless they are sleeping. However I'm getting things done slowly.

Still on the girls...Ana even with most the snow gone on both side of the sidewalk in the back yard she still goes on the sidewalk. In her defense she does go on the grass on both sides and sniffs but them goes on the sidewalk. My crazy dog...she also had decided it is fun to lick me until I get up in the morning. The eye, in my ear, and across my forehead are her favorites.

good news & bad news

The good news is I was not ready in any way to leave yesterday. My hotel is $20 a night cheaper now. I get to stay with the girls a little longer. I get a couple more pilates classes in.

The Bad news I'm in limbo till late tonight as to what is going to happen. I'm in minnesota with this weather as compared to sunny LA. I'm missing the Pete Yorn concert. Mary Ann (Joe's adopted mom) is going to LA alone.

The problem you ask...they can not locate the coroner. They know where she lives but is not answering her phone and is not at home.

Last night as I was packing one bag and was celebrating that i was 5 pounds under weight, I noticed there was a fire truck and ambulance outside. I heard the sirens but just turned it out. Then I saw them wheel Dave out and Amy following (my neighbors). Dave has pancreatic cancer. I thought he was doing better cause he has been taking short walks.

I was so aborbed in my packing and drama I didn't notice what was going on around me. Which is not good.

This still goes to what I always say everyone has it worst then you...except for one day in my life I have had it worst than most people.

freaky friday

So I had a dream that they were trimming the tree along my house. I have been wanting them to trim them for ever and this year they have been doing all the streets around my house but mine.

Today I went to leave for the gym and they were trimming the trees!!!!!!! actually they were putting everyone branches in my driveway. I asked them to trim that big branch in front of my house that almost touched the sidewalk.

Anyway my trees are now all trim - that are the city's anyway.

Just when I think my life could get couldn't get crazier, it did. I think I'm getting a ulcer. To make a long story short...the trial date is set, and I'm not sure I will be there for the verdit due to my other trip over lapping.

I don't want to cancel my trip, but I think I should be at the trial till the end...

no time

So I'm running out of time to get ready for my trips...I have been so involuded in getting things ready I didn't even notice that my girls are out of food. Yup how is that for craziness I didn't notice that my little furry friends were out of food - not just running low I'm down to 3 kibbles. Time to move the pet store up on the list of things to do.

Not to mention I'm out of cherry juice - I could use a good night sleep and running very low on my own food.

This craziness is almost done - then time to get away from it all. I do mean get away from it all.

juice

lately I have been drinking a couple ounces of Tart Cherry Juice before going to bed. Why you ask? Well it is suppose to boost your melatonin and help you sleep better.

My findings are this...I fall asleep really fast and stay away asleep. (that is unless there is a noise outside that the dogs hear) I wake up in the mornings and feel like I blacked out or the night only lasted a hour or so. I can't explain it but it works. I can't wait to see if it works in the summer when it is brighter out.

The only thing is you need to drink TART cherry juice - regular juice I guess doesn't work - according to Dr. Oz. I get mine at whole foods - give it a try if you want some ZZZZZ's

craziness

Today I get a new toilet! how fun is that. I'm also getting my washer fixed!! Yesterday I had my taxes started but not done yet...For fun I got to see the Bodeans at the new Guthrie Theater - had great seats and they played all there old stuff I love - actually I might have worn out there CD over the years.

I can fit a couple more things into my day if anyone is free - I really don't need to sleep.

I'm still getting ready for all the trips coming up - hence the fix of everything in the house for the dog sitters :)

OHHH I also have the pugs again but they are going home today.

hair

So I have not had much luck ever finding someone that I thought was good to color or cut my hair. If I did find someone it has been in another city and costly.

Here is a brief history…I have only had issue in Minneapolis come to think about it…in the early 90’s I found a great person, however that only last a couple times she was going to school to become an accountant.

Then in 2000 when I moved back to mpls I actually flew back and forth to Chicago to get my hair done – my neighbors sister would do my hair some time along with Laura a friend of Jodi’s.

Then I finally found Richard. I really like going to see Richard however sometime my hair was white not blonde.

AHH finding a stylist in Brussels. This was not as hard as you would think. I went to a chain hair salon based in England. I had an ok girl do my color then one day while Joe was getting his haircut a nice Swedish lady said there is an American here that does color. After that I switch to her – she was actually from Minneapolis and married a Belgian. How crazy is that.

For cutting both Joe and I loved crazy Sebastian. We nicknamed him Edward scissor hands. He cut so fast and would twist his hand upside down. We also would have to stand up most of the time and then the other part he would sit on a stool and zoom around us with a possessed look in his eyes.

He however he had a lot of issues going on. One being that he thought it was too hot in the summer in Brussels and couldn’t sleep at night. Another thing that happened is that he broke his wrist one day (not sure what happened) and had a cast on it for a long time. Both of these issues caused his to call in sick a lot…finally he got fired. He was ok with that – he wanted to move somewhere else anyway.

After this whole mess I tried a salon that was the “royal” hairstylist. Meaning the Royal family got their hair done at this spot. It was good but then we moved…

To make a long story shorter…I think I found a great person now to do my hair.

His name is Tony he was born and raised in LA. He worked in Beverly Hills at Fredrick Fecki (spelling). Also did hair for Grey’s Anatomy and CSI. The person I was most impressed with was that he did Bridgett’s hair from the girls next door – you know the playboy bunny. He said his biggest regret is not going to a party at the mansion. (He is gay)

How did he end up here…well he had some clients that would fly out there then they flew him here and his base started to grew so much and he was getting sick of the scene in LA that he decided to open a salon here 4 years ago.

Did I mention my hair looks really good.
