Stage 7 part one

Saturday we saw the sign in of the stage 7 tour of California. The sign in is where the riders walk up or ride up to a stage/table and sign in right before the start of the race. Sometimes they sign autographs on their way up to sign in.

Bright and early Joe, Foxy and I headed down to get a good spot for this activity. We did think that the crowds would be a heavier than a normal US cycling event due to the fact Lance Armstrong was racing again.

After 3 hours of patiently waiting we got to see all the top riders up close and personal.
Here are some riders photos from the day.

Tom Boonen, The fastest rider from Team Quick Step - the Belgian Team we wanted to see
Riders sneeking in the back way.
George Hincapie (he rode with Lance years ago)
Carlos Sastre - he won the Tour de France 2008

Lance Armstrong - He came in the back way and went down the other side of the stage so we didn't get to see him up close or get him to sign Joe's book.

Levi Leipheimer's bike
